不尚賢。使民不爭。
By not glorifying the talented, people will not fight for glory and position.
不貴難得之貨。使民不為盜。
By not valuing rare objects, people will stop from stealing.
不見可欲。使心不亂。
By not seeing things with wanton desire, people’s minds will not be disturbed.
安民章第三 (第三章：無為而治 Chapter three：Method of Non-Ado and use of Law of Nature to govern the people)
我們必須接受失望，因為它是有限的；但千萬不可失去希望，因為它是無限的。
We must accept finite disappointment, but we must never lose infinite hope.
功成名遂。身退。
Retire in time when you have done your work with great success.
天之道。
This is the Heaven’s way.
道德經：持盈章第九 (第九章 為人的道理 Chapter Nine Wisdom and Behaviour of a Person)
金玉滿堂。莫之能守。
When your hall is full of gold and jade, you are not able to keep them safe.
富貴而驕。自遺其咎。
When feeling proud with wealth and honour, you are on the way to get disaster.
道德經：持盈章第九 (第九章 為人的道理 Chapter Nine Wisdom and Behaviour of a Person)
一切幸福都絕非沒有憂慮和煩惱，而一切逆境也絕非沒有慰籍與希望。
Prosperity is not without many fears and distastes; and adversity is not without comforts and hopes.
天地長久。
The universe is everlasting.
天地所以能長久者。以其不自生。故能長生。
The reason why the universe is everlasting is that it does not live for Self.
道德經：無私章第七 (第七章 無私之心 Chapter Seven Impartial Mind)
道。可道。非常道。
The Tao (way) that can be told of is not the Absolute Tao.
名。可名。非常名。
The names that can be given are not enduring and unchanging names.
道德經：觀妙章第一 (第一章 道與名 Chapter One Tao and the Name)
If an urgent task is waiting to be done, come forward and say, " I'll do it!"
急須要做，正要人做的事，我來吧!
To give of oneself is to cultivate the path;to achieve inner peace is to succeed on the path.
奉獻即是修行，安心即是成就。
吾憶佛
「烏迴鳩羅，我不行了，我們帶的水都喝完了，在這乾旱無人的地方，難道我們就要死在這裏嗎？」
「娑伽羅，你沒有忘記吧！我們兩人為甚麼要從摩揭陀國到舍衛國？」
「不，我沒有忘記，我們是為了朝禮佛陀而來的。那我們上路吧！在路途中應該會有水坑的！是的，越過這片乾旱無人的地方，就可以見到佛陀了！」
誦經注意事項(誦經前)
誦經的好處現在不作詳述了，因為坊間的經書善書多有記載。
此生有緣誦經學道是多生的福報，於壇前誦經必須身口意清淨，才能達到效果。
誦經前必須涮牙漱口及沐浴，沐浴後以柚葉洗擦五個主要部位：額頭(面部)、頭頂、雙肩膊(左右)及心口。
沐浴後穿上整潔衣服，不可穿睡服。最理想的當然是一套特定的誦經衣服，好處是遇上身體不適及出門時可穿著此套衣服，有防身作用。
拈香時，心意清淨，誠意敬奉佛菩薩。
先合什禮拜，心無雜念，開始誦經。
